Since its release on October 25th, Jan Verheyen’s ‘Control’ reached 200.000 visitors in Belgium.
This makes ‘Control’ the most visited Flemish film of 2017 so far, and the biggest Flemish cinema success since ‘The Premier’ that was released in October 2016. For Verheyen, it’s his 6th film that’s able to exceed 200.000 visitors.
For this achievement, ‘Control’ received the Platinum Film Prize. The Golden, Platinum and Diamond Film Prize (for 100.000, 200.000 and 400.000 visitors) is an initiative by Peter Craeymeersch, the organiser of the Ostend Film Festival, and supported by the Flemisch Audiovisual Fund.
In ‘Control’, the once unconditional friendship between police officers Vincke and Verstuyft hits a very rough patch when they come up against a series of gruesome murders. Complicating matters even further, a survivor of the killer drives a wedge between them when Verstuyft falls for her charms. Meanwhile, the serial killer has a new victim in sight…
