Synopsis
Winning the lottery is something that appeals to everyone’s imagination. We’ve all fantasised about what we would do with that kind of money. Wouldn’t life be so much easier? Doesn’t money take away all your worries? Unfortunately, for most of us it remains just that… a fantasy.
This is not the case for the Sterckx family, a regular middle-class family.
Paula Sterckx is the one who comes up with the idea of reviving an old family tradition on the occasion of her granddaughter’s 9th birthday. Together with her family – her husband Wilfried, their daughters Becca and Nicky, and their son Chris and his wife Lydia – she wants to fill out a lottery form again, for old time’s sake. None of them suspects that this will change their lives drastically…
They filled in the 6 correct numbers on their lottery form and are the only jackpot winner.
What happens to people when they experience something like this? Will the money change them or not?
Soon they learn, each in their own way, that money cannot solve all of their problems. They are forced to re-evaluate their lives and to consider the things that are really important: love, family, identity, creativity, health.
