Synopsis
When Katrien Deschryver kills her husband in a hunting accident, she unintentionally triggers off a series of unfortunate events that will suck her entire family inescapably downward. Floating on the wave of general indignation that will result in the White March, a frustrated examining magistrate wages a one man’s crusade against the powerful Deschryver clan. Like a self-proclaimed white knight he seizes the alleged murder as an alibi to dig up and reveal all sorts of hidden and shady family practices.
Closely knit with the political and economical elite, the Flemish “Kennedy clan” becomes the symbol ‘par excellence’ for everything that goes wrong in the country. As a result of the events slumbering old family conflicts rise to the surface again; undigested family traumas take their toll. In their struggle against the government, public opinion and their own demons the Deschryvers go down or find new balance. So, Katrien and her family’s catharsis runs parallel with that of our late nineteen nineties’ society.
