‘Oh, Otto!’ won twice at the prestigious international Canneséries festival: the series was named best series in the Short Form Competition by both the student jury and the international professional jury. The recognition by the young student jury is particularly special because Oh, Otto! was also made with a remarkably young crew, for many of whom this was their debut. The official jury was also unanimous and clear in its verdict: Oh, Otto! clearly stood out above the rest.
‘Oh, Otto!’ is about young Otto, who, after being dumped by his first love Boris and the departure of his best friend Lente from Brussels, is looking for his place within the Brussels queer community.
The leading roles are played by Jonathan Michiels as Otto and Jennifer Heylen as Lente. Other roles are played by Gijs De Corte, Flor Van Severen and Emilie De Roo. The series was directed by Stijn Van Kerkhoven and produced by Peter Bouckaert and Annabel Kemel for Eyeworks Film & TV Drama, in co-production with Streamz.
