‘1985’ wins ten Ensors

Last Saturday, on February 3rd 2024, the gala of the Ensors was organized for the fourteenth time. The prizes were awarded to the best Flemish audiovisual fiction, documentary and animation of the past year.

Eyeworks Film & TV Drama was able to go home with 10 Ensor statuettes for the series ‘1985’. The series about the Brabant killers was named best fiction series and Wouter Bouvijn received the Ensor statuette for best direction for a fiction series. Actors Aimé Claeys and Tom Vermeir received statuettes for their acting performances in leading and supporting roles, respectively. Best scenario for a fiction series went to Willem Wallyn, best art direction was awarded to Stijn Verhoeven and Pieter Smet went home with the statuette for best editing. Finally, ‘1985’ also won the statuettes for best sound (Arne Winderickx and Matthias Hillegeer), best music (David Martijn and Jeroen Swinnen) and best costume (Sophie Van den Keybus).
