Eyeworks Film & TV Drama was formerly known as MMG, a Belgian film production company founded in 1981 by Erwin Provoost. Originally, the company produced theatrical movies such as BRUSSELS BY NIGHT, directed by Marc Didden, and CRAZY LOVE, directed by Dominique Deruddere.
Since then, Eyeworks Film & TV Drama has produced numerous films, including WAIT UNTIL SPRING, BANDINI with Joe Mantegna, Faye Dunaway and Ornella Muti, HECTOR, a comedy starring Belgian stand-up comedian URBANUS, KOKO FLANEL, OEROEG, MAX, ISTANBUL, BLOEDBRUILOFT, DE ZAAK ALZHEIMER, WINDKRACHT 10, BEN X, VERMIST, LOS and SOEUR SOURIRE with Cécile de France.
Additionally, Eyeworks Film & TV Drama partnered on various international co-productions.
From 1990 onwards, Eyeworks Film & TV Drama benefited from the support of financially sound shareholders and the company diversified into ancillary markets with productions for television, video and animation. WINDKRACHT 10, a drama series about an elite military search and rescue team, was broadcast in 1997 and 1998, reeling in a 42% market share. Its successor, the VRT-Eyeworks collaboration FLIKKEN, became a top television hit in both Flanders and the Netherlands.
Eyeworks Film & TV Drama is an active player in the production of drama series and films for the (inter)national market-place. Five of the ten top grossing Flemish movies of all time have been produced by Eyeworks Film & TV Drama or one of its subsidiaries.
